Irish Pride BBQ competition with Calor 2018 Week  9 Winning Burger Recipe

Beetroot & Hummus Burger

Recipe 

Irish Pride Burger Buns
2 raw Beetroot peeled & grated
2 carrots grated 1 Courgette grated
1 red Onion finely chopped
3 cloves Garlic
100g Porridge Oats
1 tin Chickpeas 3 tablespoons
Tahini
1 Egg Bunch
Fresh Mint chopped
Pinch Chilli flakes

Method

Saute the onion & garlic for 2-3mins, add the grated veg and cook for 3-4 mins. Drain off any liquid. Place the porridge, chickpeas, tahini & egg into a food processor, pulse to mix together.Transfer to a bowl and add the vegetables, add the mint & chilli flakes,salt & pepper, mix and shape into burgers. Chill for 15mins in the freezer. Heat the BBQ and cook for 3mins each side, turn only once. Place burger on the bun, add lots and lots of hummus and salad.
