Irish Pride BBQ Competition with Calor 2018 Week 10 Winning Burger Recipe

Irish pride Barbecued Cajun Pork Burgers + Patatas Bravas

 

Ingredients:

900 grams of potatoes for Patatas bravas cut into Chunks,
3 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion
2 cloves chopped garlic,
1 can of chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp tomato purée
2 tsp sweet paprika
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
 4 Irish Pride Bunsters
450 grams of Pork Mince
1/2 Apple (peeled cored and grated)
450 grams of onions
1 tsp Cajun Seasoning
1 tbsp Chopped Fresh Coriander
2 tbsp Sunflower oil
Salt Pepper sliced
cheese
spicy mayo.

Prepare:

For the Patatas Bravas 1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. 2. Heat the oil in the pan, and add the garlic, tomatoes, tomato purée, paprika, chilli powder, sugar and salt and bring to the boil, stirring. Simmer for 10 minutes and set aside to reheat later. 3. Put the potato chunks onto an oven tray and drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 40-50 mins 4. when the potatoes are golden and crispy, serve with the burger and put the reheated sauce on top.

For the Burger: 1. Place the pork in the bowl, with the apple and Cajun Seasoning. 2. Grate one of the onions into the mixture and combine with the coriander and salt and pepper. 3. Slice the remaining onions and cook over a low heat on the frying pan for 10 mins. 4. Preheat the BBQ and cook the burgers for 4-5 mins each side. 5. Serve the burgers with the cooked onions, a slice of cheese and some leaves add some spicy mayo for an extra kick.
