It’s a Matter of Pride – An introduction to our Charity Partner

What do bread and Barretstown have in common? Not much I hear you say, and in part, you would be right. But let me explain exactly why Barretstown and Irish Pride make such a perfect match. Our first introduction to Irish Pride came in 2017, as they drove through Ballymore Eustace to deliver bread and baking products to support our residential camps and programmes, feeding hungry campers, families, camp teams and volunteers alike. Barretstown are a charity that offer free, specially designed camps and programmes for children and their families living with a serious illness – supported by 24 hour on-site medical and nursing care.

Since opening their gates in 1994, Barretstown have brought magic into the lives of over 60,000 campers and their families, transforming lives through their therapeutic programmes. All of the children and families are able to come to camp free of charge, thanks to the incredible generosity of supporters and fundraisers who make up 98% of their annual income. At the heart of this magic, is an incredible community of people that work tirelessly for the betterment of families across Ireland.

At Irish Pride, they hold community close to their hearts. Pride is exactly what this iconic brand was built on, which is why they chose to align themselves  with Barretstown and offer their support to our Press Play campaign, aiming to Press Play on childhood for all those living with serious illness. Barretstown are incredibly proud to have Irish Pride accompany us and support this amazing journey and are excited to continue to grow this partnership over the coming years.

So… what exactly do bread and Barretstown share in common? An incredible community of supporters built on pride.Interested in learning more about our charity partner? Click here to watch ‘Our journey to Barretstown.’
