Hospice Sunflower Days 2010

hospice-and-logoIrish Pride is delighted to support Hospice Sunflower Days, which is one of the main fundraising activities for local hospice services, and this year it took place on the 11th and 12th of June. The key message of Sunflower Days is that all funds raised locally stay locally so you can be assured that you are supporting your local community when you support Hospice Sunflower Days.

This year Hospice Sunflower Days was a huge success and the volunteers raised a very generous €650,000 for Hospice care in Ireland.

As a way of thanking the many volunteers who work tirelessly on behalf of their local hospice services Irish Pride sponsored an awards ceremony called the ‘Irish Pride Sunflower Heroes’. Local hospice groups were asked to nominated a volunteer, whether in a professional caring role or as generous fundraisers for the award. Twelve awards were presented at the national launch of Hospice Sunflower Days and we hope to grow the awards ceremony further next year with the Irish Hospice Foundation.

We are delighted to continue to sponsor this event and we are confident that Hospice Sunflower Days 2011 will be every bit as successful. To learn more about how to become a volunteer for Hospice Sunflower Days please visit the Sunflower Days website www.sunflowerdays.ie.
